Sage Valmiki created the greatest epic
‘‘Ramayana’.
Being in Sanskrit language it was beyond the comprehension of the
commoners. Saint Tulsidas redrafted the epic in layman’s
language
as the story of Rama for the benefit of the common folk. Rama has been
presented as an incarnation in this version titled ‘Ram
Charita
Manas’. Rama is God. He acts as a normal man flashes of
divinity.
His character is a mine of divine spectacles from which emanate the
messages of sacrifice, righteousness and love.
It is the character of Rama that inspired the poets world over to weave verses in his praise in various language and translation followed.

यन्मायावशवर्त्ति विश्वमखिलं ब्रह्मादिदेवासुरा
यत्सत्त्वादमृषैव भति सकलं रज्जौ यथाहेर्भ्रम:।
यत्पादप्लवमेकमेव हि भवाभ्भोधेस्तितीर्षावतां
वन्देऽहं तमशेषकारणपरं रामाख्यमीशं हरिम्।।

Explanation- I pray to lord Rama, subjugated by whose Maya are the
entire universe, gods like Brahma et al., and the demos, and under
whose existence the whole visible world seems real like a rope causing
illusion of a serpent, and whose very lotus feet are like the only boat
to those who wish to cross the ocean-like world.
